Ever felt like you no longer hold the reigns to your life?... hopeless rasanya..
Lost an Uncle... in a split second it felt... never expected it coming... even now it feels like a dream... a nightmare more like.. I wanna wake up from.. desperately... Al-fatihah... moga ya bersama orang-orang yang beriman.. aminn... I cant begin to immagine how the family must feel... But they have been strong through it.. kudos to the dear cousins and aunt for being so brave..

Then I discoved something that felt like a revelation... all this time i think i knew it all along.. just refused to believe what was blatantly obvious... I pray that justice prevails... and sit and watch as days go by and wait for news that always seem to find its way to me even without asking.. interesting. Aaahhh life... slow down a bit please I need to catch my breath..

Emails are so rare these days.. with facebook and twitter and all the social networks.. Updating family and friends with daily happenings is made more convenient. Hence we stay in touch even if we don't realise it. But ofcourse there are certain things reserved for the eyes and "ears" of only a selected few... such as this email I received from my very best friend:

" dunno if ur dad mentioned that he met alai (BFF's husband) yday arah penggilan. It was funny coz alai went to tagur ur dad masa kan balik... skali ceta2 lah alai told ur dad yang kawin ani colleague nya etc etc etc, skali alai asked ur dad... "kita ani bapa c sam kan uncle?" n suddenly ur dad had a grin on his face n asked with a serious tone "c sam mana tu?" (that's how i imagined it masa alai ceta arah ku hehe) skali alai ckp... "c sam bah samsiah... aku laki c achu bah uncle" skali ur dad pun smile n said "awooo... astah" heheheheh its like masa ur dad had a grin atu mcm... "who the hell is this guy rambut lagi panjang kan cuba2 men-tackle anak ku!" kinda look arah alai sampai alai mcm GULP! Heheheheheheheh tapi lps alai mentioned me. ok tia phew! "

I don't usually do postings to commemorate the passing of family and friends.. mainly besause its so hard to even bring myself to key in the words.. to see it form into sentences that triggers a flash back of the happy memories embedded in my heart.. But last night.. I only come to knowledge that an acquaintance had passed in a tragic car accident..

I barely knew him but in the few exhange of words it was evident that he was a nice person.. the friends had nothing but great things to say about him.. and I wept. Maybe it was the love that I sensed from those around him.. maybe its the passing of such a young life with so much potential.. or maybe.. for the loss of a friendship that could have been... maybe I'm PMSing... I really can't say why I was emotional about it... weeping with eyes like a faucet.. The only reason I could think of is that its not everyday that you find a friend that you truly wanna keep in your life.. al-fatihah.

I joined this run for charity thing... HAhahahHA yeah you heard it right.. me? run? hahahahah okay I guess its time.. seriously time to get back on the wagon... I have strayed so far ahahaha anyway.. the charity... something of a rarity (hey that rhymes)

In fact, if I wasn't forced into it or involved via office I certainly wouldn't have joined it at all I think. Not that I don't believe in charity... I think charity could be served in other forms not just in BIG shebang events.

So there I was running a little bit late for this run thing and meeting up with the cuzzie and her friends at a venue.. even from a distance I could see how fit these guys were... as I entered the car I was introduced to the two very good looking guys... thankfully my jaws didnt drop. hahahahahaahhahaahhahaha

They were lets just say a feast for the eyes...nice facial features.. the kind that deserves.. wait... the kind that demands a second glance.. or three.. maybe even four.. well sculpted... arms with rippled muscles even visible through the printed white shirts (the charity run official wear a tad tacky but they made the shirt looked good!) HAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAahha owh my.. I said too much..but surely it doesn't hurt to have a bit of eye candy *giggle* ;p

So once the introductions were over and we were just chatting amongst ourselves on the way to the venue.. I couldn't help but express what I had in my mind to the cuzzie sitting next to me in the backseat.. "hey ka, lawa jua kawan kita dua orang ani.." cakap melayu lerr karang disabut hensem faham durang kan?! hahahaha

I seeeeriously didnt see what came after... " hey ming (mostly family only that call me by that name), sorang atu melayu tu ming"

&*$^%!!!! ssssshhheeeeeeeiiiiitttssSSssssss..... embarassment does not befit the discription that I felt when she uttered those words... FuuuuuudddgeeeestickkSS!!!! *&^%*$((!!!

I had my resevations about writing this but it was just too stupendous not to be shared!

It was a lovely day. The birds chirping, the wind blew with a cool breeze enough to mask the heat of the shining sun.. ever so bright and i have the two tones skin on my arms to prove it.. like i've put on a long glove... I can't stop staring at it now...

So it was a lovely day.. a great day for a picnic. I'll upload the pictures maybe on a later day cos its just so troublesome my current fone.. Seriously need to get a new one... soon enough inshaAllah.

This story isn't really about the day at the beach.. more what happened after.. ever had the so-much-fun-that-you'd-forgot-to-go-1? It was a picnic under the brightest of sunshine.. the heat was barely noticeable due to the presence of billowing cool breeze off the sea.. but that didnt stop me from having a drink.. a lot of drinks actually.

So fast forward to the time I drove home..I find my handbag metamorphs into Doraemons magic pouch that coughs out so much stuff.. everything and anything but what I'm looking for! So right there and then I felt the urge to tinkle!! WTF??!!! Now??!! Seriously lately the warning for 1 and 2 is short and URGENT!! UUrrggHHHH come on keys!! I stopped moving literally! to will myself to hold it for a little longer.. but the frantic search for the f**king key was preventing me from concentrating on holding it!! And that was the weirdest relief I have ever let myself be in *sink in shame*

yes you read it right! I was like this little kid who hasn't mastered bladder control! haAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

I jumped near the garden hose, almost screaming!! "hose me down!! I cant hold it!! I seriously cant!!" and so my dear brother.. who was mortified at the situation was in between laughing and disbelief!! He pulled the garden hose and turned the faucet and started to spray me with water like washing a dirty cat! hahahahahhaAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAahahhahaha

I was laughing this red in the face laugh wishing that it was all a bad dream!!

But that is not the end of it... after cleaning up and gathering what was left of my dignity.. I went downstairs remembering the M&S chocolate snack that the other brother brought home last night. A lovely blend of rolled rich and moist chocolate cake coated with milk chocolate that is so devine it helps you forget your troubles.. Exactly what I need in this situation. I was chewing one in my mouth and it was working... HhhMMmmmmhhhh.. chocolate.. endorpine releasing substance is really working. Just as I decided to take a sip of water to drown a little bit of its rich sweetness, the brother stepped into view out of no where!! Giving me a bit of a fright! And I choked on the water and caughed it out.... Right into his face. Its not enough that he had witnessed the aweful scene earlier, now he gets chewed up chocolate gunge spat on him!!! HAHAAHAHaHAAHHAhaha owhh Allah..

Aarghh fell asleep on the sofa again! I hate having to wake up in the middle of the night to find myself all alone and no one else in the family room.. the house gets eerily quiet at those times...

So there I was walking up the stairs to my room... everything all hushed and me trying to get into my owhhh cosy bed. But the bladder had different plans.. so I popped into the en-suite. Having finished my business, while I was washing my hands.. I thought I heard something.. so I turned off the water and there it was... faint in the beginning.. and starts getting louder as I listened intently... it was the creepiest sound I never thought I'd hear.. wailing cry of a woman!

Its giving me goosebumps as I'm writing this... it was spooky.. the sadness was evident but the way in which the cry was let out.. in the kind that lets you know its just unhuman.. and at this hour??

Reminds me of another incident about a couple of years or so ago... all alone in my room, the radio full blast and me on the lappy.. when all of the sudden a loud bangging shocked me frozen.. on the walls that was close to my right just by my bed.. I turned off the radio but the banging continued a good minute... although it could've been a few seconds but it felt like minutes.

During the banging.. I had initially thought my brother got annoyed at the loud music. His room is on the other side of the wall...

But a second thought made me realise that the brother was off abroad for a good couple of weeks or months.. so who was that banging on the wall???

Love should be simple said a friend to me.. it shouldn't be hardwork..it should come naturally.. and i think yes. Falling in love should be natural. It should be as simple as the hit of pleasure you feel on the first bite of a decadent creamy warm chocolate fudge cake. The orgasmic AAaaahhhhHHH of the senses for the pure pleasure of such taste.. ermm okay maybe I went overboard with the metaphor.. more like describing some other thing ;p hahahahaah

Carrying on... its actually what comes after that over-the-moon-love-struck stage of the relationship that is tricky.. where all the "hardwork" come to play. It should be logic really.. do what comes natural to you right?.. so you dont end up being awkward and clumsy i.e. trying too hard.

I kid you not but this is real life story I'm about to tell you... no one I repeat NO ONE in their sensible state of mind would dare execute but this being life of unexpected "treasures"... some did!! *grimace*

An act of feeding

You know this.. you see moms doing this all the time to their child. In certain context of romanticism, couples perform this gesture as sign of affection and intimacy. I wouldn't recommend that this ever be done at any stage of dating unless both party is open to the idea.

Ok get ready to cringe.. a friend lets call her Yaya, tries her damnest to give this guy, Dull, a fighting chance at winning her over. Long story short, it was the family that set her up with the guy. Dull came highly recomemnded as being a very nice and good person (I'm turned off already.. hahaha I'm not against dating nice guys who are also GOOD apparently.. but when people talk about someone like that, doesn't it usually translate to "he's actually very boring"?) so.. no matter how much she tries.. nothing. Absolutely nothing.. zilch! Nada! stirred inside her.. not the tiniest bit of spark.. Nothing to ignite any sort of romantic notion for him. Maybe he sensed it?..

So in an act of trying to be more spontaneous on his part (I guess he felt that this could tip the scale to his favour.. what a &#^%$!) he decided to help feed her some snacks while she was driving.. Yaya so not ready for such showiness of affection.. pulled away.. far far away... well.. as far as the space in the car seat would let her. Thats not the "best" part.. trust me it gets a whole lot worse.. deciding that he'd give it another try.. maybe he thought she was being shy and needed a little prodding.. so... he did it again! and again Yaya pulled away.. undeterred.. HE DID IT FOR A THIRD TIME!!! And guess what?... there were people riding with them in the backseat!!!!!! I'm embarassed for him the first time... but to be doing it over and over!!! Seeeeriously??! Motification descibes only the tip of the iceberg for this... He redefines awkwadness!

Trying to force feed someone who haven't at all warmed up to you is crazy awkward! But wait.. to do it not once, not twice, three times!!

Currently watching "He's just not into you"

Lately I've been doing a lot of thinking... it happens especially when I am faced with certain scenarios.. so there I was watching this movie and it got me thinking.. people fall in love and they get married.. but years after.. some find new interest and fall in love with another... it happens... how do you deal with that?.. is it fair game?... are they being selfish?... or was it not love the first time?.. or have they fallen out of love with the first and that is why they find other love? is it fair though?.. is it fair to say to the one you are with that you don't love them anymore after so many years or is it easier to lie and have extra marital affairs or do you stick it through and stand by them through thick and thin and eventually rediscover who you married?... something to think about huh..

I got a surprise call a couple of days back... I always enjoy an occasional call from the besties, especially when its just to say hi and have a chat about anything and everything. So about that call... it was a shocker cos a friend was telling me that she'd dreamt that I was getting married!!! and.... that she was doing the preparations for me!! hahahahahha seriouskah?! are dreams just figments of ur immagination resulted from remnants of your conscious thoughts?... or is there such a thing as an omen in dreams... makes me wonder... hmmmmm...

The fishing trip was a bundle of fun. As ever there was a few candid incidents that made us laugh til we felt like peeing hahahhahaha. Sadly I havent managed to take fotos of the feast we had on the trip.. but immagine Man Vs Food portions hahaha ;p

a fishing we will go~ a fishing will go we~ somehow I'm fueled, ready to go for this fishing trip only cos the last trip of the first two I didnt catch anything and the brother has been gloating on his big catch..

Not so big on fishing but I thoroughly enjoy it once I'm given the rod and bait :) I love the rush that comes with the tug on the line and there's a bite. Plus spending that quality time with the family is just something so priceless... especially now with everyone busy with their own thing.. Call me lame.. but I think I have the best times when I'm with my family

movie marathon

The brothers and I decided to go for a movie marathon yesterday and it ended with a big fat scowl on dads face... I opted for a quick exit but the brothers aren't as lucky.. they had to sit out the big blow out.. poor them.. one of the brother didn't have a happy face this morning.. *giggle* its kinda funny when I think about it really...

I don't blame dad for getting angry.. he's just being a worried dad.. I just wished he'd start treating us like adults.. and approached things a little more tactful... Everyone has issues with their parents I'm sure and ours would be having parents who loves us too damn much! (pardon my french) When you see me with a not too happy face.. its only cos I'm stressing about being loved too much... hahahahahahahahahah

But all in all.. I love my parents and I wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world.

So on the topic of movies.. we saw *drum roll*

KUNGFU PANDA 2!!!

It was awesome!! the cinematography was more awesome than the first.. would've been a whole lot more awesome if we had managed to procure a parking spot at the mall in Gadong to watch it in 3D.. on the bright side I got a refund for the paid parking! hehe only cos I asked for it and told the parking attendant that we couldn't get a parling space even after making a few rounds..

so I was saying.. kung fu panda 2 almost made me pee my pants!! all the laughing!! I was in stiches!! it was truly most entertaining and a film to watch!

well it wasn't really a marathon, it was just two films.. if we had gone for three.. I would really have gotten ourselves in greater trouble with the parents hehe... the other film was pirates of the carribean : on stranger tides..

It was somewhat less of a swashbuckle than we anticipated... having seen the films predecessor... and probably having seen kung fu panda before it.. but then again I have to admit.. watching it in 3D would have pobably hiked up the ratings for me.. but of course it wasn't a dissapointment.. a film with johnny depp is never a disapointment! Too many new characters that needed familiarizing maybe... kinda confuses the story line and divergent from the original three films before it.. I can't quite put my finger on it.. but it was okay... wasn't great but okay by my book.

Ever heard of the movie good luck chuck..

so the story goes (case you couldn't be bothered to click on the link there) summarized: its about a guy, Chuck, who always end up in failed relationships one after the other AND his exes all end up getting married with the next man after they date him... Funny flick really if you havent watched it I'd recommend it for a fun night in movie. You would think its all fiction and nothing but a very immaginative story line.. So I was stunned when a friend told me that there is such a guy in our very own country, yes here, who actually resembled Chuck's life story and is somewhat of a lucky charm to those single ladies looking to get hitched... now aint that something hahaha but hey it could all be a coincidence.. I mean the guy could probably be so bad that anyone that comes in next seem like a God send.. But all in all it felt like i had one of those TV sitcom conversation... surreal but loads and loads of laughter ;)

another fun filled sunday... the morning was a tad uneventful, woke up around about 9.

past mid day things starts to pick up... went to visit the baby cousins. shasha always the sweet heart, gave the warmest greet.. ran and jumped at me with a tight hug and a big kiss :)

"kaka M.. (paksa censor nama rumah tue haha) gambar..." she says

so I took an instant pic... she wanted to make a heart shape but my head got in the way... "gambar lagi" says she... the little model.. pandai sudah posing maut hahahah
Babey izzah gave the cutest of smile.. so hard to get her to smile like that when I have a cemera at hand.. ain't she just the cutest~

It was wana's idea of giving the peace sign.. and like her kaka shasha, wana too was a big fan on having her pics taken, wana the one on the right, wani had a bit of touble trying to make her fingers go peace!

tau-tau kna bawa main netball.. hebat the game~ very addictive too..

sejarah kali ah... main netbal pakai sandals and flip flops hahahahaah

dekat-dekat maghrib baru kami stop playing, had to have the car window down, cos berpeluh-peluh lapas main... and my hair came to life! hahahahah

on the way home... wahhhhhh we saw a rainbow... so bright n clear... kata orang good luck bila jumpa rainbow... hope so ;)

balik rumah terus shower and terus ke rumah my other aunt cos they've just come back from umrah.. wahh siuk nya umrah... aiman the cutey, nda teranah ni si cousin ani terpaksa di paluk bnar-bnar if not garak2 bila digambar and so manja ;)

hidangan urang balik umrah... heheh urang balik dari umrah pulang menghidang eheheh.. kurma.. chocolates and sweets

I had a great time yesterday, met up with the besties at villa mauri and had an early dinner. Catched up on life and anything worth talking about. It was fun but in a different setting cos we're all supposedly grown ups now... though inside.... I sooooo feel like a kid.

The selection of food was exquisite ... love the setting, very homey yet with a touch of elegance.the food served up looked tempting, but I gotta say, and this is only a person's opinion okay so don't go jumping on me with daggers and knives :P

I think the food is over rated, don't get me wrong, it is really good but I have had better.. I mean to say this only because I had heard mountains of praises for the food they serve, and rightly so cos everything was delicious... but a little dissapointed that it doesn't come up to par with my opinion of something of a must to have from time to time... like casbah's london kebabs ouhhh I crave for one right now... cos when you've been meaning to have something that you hear was so great but turns out to be not too much out of the ordinary.... well you get the picture..

the salmon I had was a tad over cooked, the sauce was my favourite of the dish, the whole big prawns with the creamy sauce was confusing... i say that cos I assume the salmon should be the main attraction... and throwing in the prawns just makes the dish more of a caserole rather than an exquisite salmon platter.. this dish deludes me... I'm torn between liking and hating it, the beef was ouuuh so delish, tender and just beautiful.. what brings it down?.. the potatoes. It tasted like uncooked dough... annisah had this one.. biasaler mau jua merasa makanan orang aku ahh hahaha kna offer so makan jer lah rezki kan hehe

this dish was hailed as the fave amongst the customers... I seriously was so looking forward to have a taste... and when i dug in.. it was a little bland... I would've prefered the one made at cheesebox ouuh that one really rocks! but aside all that... i have a slight cold so that might have somehow affected my tastebuds... maybe I am being too critical about my evaluation.. hahaha belabih ahh macam food critique saja... but I love good food.. and I see nothing wrong with that yes? and besides it is just a matter of opinion.

At night went to watch a MOVIE with a couple of the cousins and my brothers.
I hadn't done that in such a loooooonggg while... the last movie I saw was jangan tegur.. bloody scarey.

the kids being silly, looks like a cynical benetton ad hahaI just had to take a photo in "there". Doing the routine touch-up before heading for the cinema, the niece had challenged me to a DDR contest and I was sweating profusely... "glistening" she puts its :P
the massive crowd waiting to get in... a full house and this is the 10.30pm movie slot.. and on a weekday!

the movie we sacrificed sleep for, it being a weekday and all...

if you're a big fan of the first movie, you are gonna want to watch this one. Yes you read it right.. bloody AWESOME!! I was entranced from beginning to end and it was so worth the few hours cut from my beauty*ehEm*sleep hahaha and there was even a few part that made me teary eyed! the line up of actors are an amazing bunch and you could really relate to the characters, all in all.. I give it two thumbs up!! a 12 out of 10! best part is it was unpredictable and you're on your toes at all times! kudos to those who made this film possible.

fishing trip

fishing has increased in popularity as a favorite pastime or hobby even... and the family are so looking forward to the next trip to sungai bunga and spend a night at the villa for a funfilled weekend of fishing bbq and merriment~look at that view... something awesome to wake up to in the wee mornings. Tapi kalau kan book you gotta do wayyyyyyyy~~~~ in advance, I think my brother put in the booking a couple of months before, thats how popular the place is. And its a great place for a family getaway. Ani baru mengenali negara kitani cheewwah hahahahaha baik jua mencari tempat2 percutian didalam negeri sendiri musim2 selsma-selsma segala ani jua...

father's day

happy father's day daddy

only God can repay ur sacrifices, the hardship you had to endure in making us who we are now... I love you bapa :)It was father's day yesterday and when we went to visit an uncle admitted in the hospital ward, the cousin turned up with a cake for all the dads, so sweet of her to remember father's day. Thank you ydah. Sorry dad for not celebrating fathers day in a more festive fashion... its just that mother's day passed and went... and I didn't feel it fair to celebrate one and not the other...

I'll try and make an effort next year.. but for me, everyday is father's and mother's day... cos not a day goes by that I don't thank God for what you both have done for abang, izzud, ican, salleh, mudin and myself. Not a day goes by that I don't adore you both for being the best parents I could ever wish for.. love you both so sooooo much.

dad loves gardening, and his latest project is the dragon fruit, I've been waiting for it to fruit cos I just loooooovee the taste of it. Dad came home calling us out to see his plant blooming, "lai lakas lakas liat bunga dragon fruit ahh"

marathon?

do you get the feel when u excercise, you become addicted and you just couldn't help but want to go do all that physical exertion and make yourself soak in sweat.. its all that endorphin I think.. its like a drug.. but a healthy one, cos its the body that produces it.. and its suppose to make you happy.. and it does, everytime I finish the usual sweat-session, apart from the panting and squeal of agony during the excercise, I'd be humming and singing and on the whole being merry and happy :)

caya si mas n me went jogging twice on friday.. morning and late afternoon!! hahahah hebat ketagihan kami atu

the price I paid for my enthusiasm... my pantleg ripped open.. mas and I joked that I was looking very funk ghetto hahahah whatever that means... hobo maybe? errmmm hahaha

at the end of the jog.. menyaman-nyamankan hati minum air kelapa ouuuhhh so nice and refreshing~

we had a family outing.. mom wanted to go picniking, she even cut the fruits fresh on the site... the rockmelons was a hit and were gone within minutes, a very hot day so anything that was refreshing was in demand ;) the grapefruit a little sour but quite a delight to have on a hot day.

the brothers having a whale of a time on the hammock, it would've been perfect... however the litter was an eyesore... it's so disappointing and heartbreaking even to see our beautiful beach reduced to a dump site by irresponsible persons... something should be done... soon.. memalukan bila datang tourists meliat... we tried our best to pick up what we can semasa kami packing to go home.. but there was so much.. sooooo so much :(

the norm for me would be a gold fish.. or those fighting fish.. or any kind of fish.. birds mayb or even those cute little sea turtles and I could possibly even tolerate frogs.. but the brother has taken it to the next level... I almost screamed when it jumped towards me... yes as evident from the picture.. its an iguana... IGUANA!!! but I admit the skin is a gorgeous mix of radiant green.. however it would be pushing my limits to touch it!

I am just not much of a morning person... I need my sunday for longer sleep.. like waking up almost midday hahahahah

dragged kicking and screaming to jog on a SUNDAY MORNING!!!! the view helped... I was barely awake panting and sweating hiking up the hills..
I was so amazed at this.. first time ever I saw a genuine.. what we call titian, I only hear about it in books, poems and songs hahaha but to see it there is just so... wow to me. Mas couldn't figure out why I had to stop and take a picture, but I just had to, they might replace it with those modern construct of a "bridge" and I'd regret not marking this memory permanently in softcopy hahhaha
lalah-lalah pun sempat jua bergambar.. titik2 paluh macam orang lari marathon saja.. all in all it was fun and I guess I wouldn't mind doing it all over again... maybe.. if I absolutely must... drag myself out of bed so early on SUNDAY MORNING!

aahhhhh nothing like an afternoon spent with the girls, just chlling and chit chatting, catching up for lost time... we had the high tea set at bakerlyn and trust me the set for two feeds four to five persons! we had a hard time trying to finish the food and it is sooo gewwd I tell you.

Sebenarnya kan makan di KIMCHI, the latest craze in dining experience.. but apparently they don't open til 6pm, so change of venue.. a tad dissapointed cos I was craving for korean food~

tomorroe night mom and mewill be heading back to brunei.... mixed feelings... happy to see my family back home.. yet with a heavy heart... reluctantly leaving the shoppersparadise... its burnt a BIG hole in my pocket! awu kata nda kan shopping... tah karang! hahahahahahahI'm sooooooo gonna miss the food!!

we went to Mall of the Emirates better known as MOE and I sank my teeth in the best crepe I have ever tasted in my life! see how happy I am munching away at it? nyaaaaamannnn the filling was generous~~ I had a savoury crepe filled with turkey and cheese~~

the food court was nothing like back home, marina mall has a wide selection.. in themood for indian? they have it, popeye's ouuuhh yes, chinese cooking ada jua, italian apatah lagi... macam-macam ada yaw~

we opted for italian food today :)

kaka drove us to dubai yesterday, nothing like going to miri though the distance it took was a lil further. the highway was so smooth, i drifted off on the way there. A lot of building projects going on and all the way from abu dhabi you could see so many things being build simultaneously. now thats development... kaka driving like a pro, trust me its quite intimidating to drive disana... mami cosily seated in the back, nampak macamkan doze off heheowh i took a vain pic in the car but I'd rather not show that... the pic I took in the ladies room, bisai tempatnya hahahahahahthe shopping mall with themes... the decor itself just... wowww.... I could just sit there and admire it for all its marvel the big elephant wish i cud sit at the top hahahaha basar yaw...

lawa shopping mall nya ani... its a shoppers paradise and starbucks is close by, so if u run low on energy there's always that amazing coffee they brew to boost it back up again :)

thursday night me and mom flew off to a faraway land... hahahah don't that sound like a fairytale beginning... ouuuuhhhh it is to me ;)the view of the landing strip whilst the plane taxied to the terminal..our first dinner.... at chilis~ thank you ka :D kna belanja makan sja siukkkk eyhh eheheheh moms grilled salmon steak, a little over cooked but sooo sooo delish nonetheless
my babequed ribs... I can't begin to describe how tender, juicy and HUGE the meat is...basaaaaaaarrr cua liat basarnya with my hand... terbeliak mata meliat bila sudah sampai the dish... yes ka you weren't kidding when you said it'd be huuuuggge!! compare tia dengan grilled salmon tadi ahh damit usulnya kan kan.. hahahahhaha majal!
nachos anyone? nothing at all like what we have di brunei yang pakai bolognaise sauce, this is topped with three kinds of cheese, lightly grilled and sprinkled with pickled chili and in the centre of the dish a combo of sour cream and real salsa, now this is nacho! ouuhhhhh soooo nyamannnnn dejavu rasanya.. teringat bila meliat movie time-time belajar di london dulu mestitah mengorder nachos with cheese and salsa and ofcourse nda ketinggalan the pickled green chili.. beeeeesssstttt~

I decided to pay my bills on sunday... yes Sunday.. they have automated machines that take cash deposits so why the heck not.... even dst counters are open on sunday.
but.... We find out noneeee.... nada... NOT a SINGLE machine in working order! round brunei dah kami tu... brunei muara... kan ke tutung dah but decided it wasnt worth the trip if we were to be dissapointed jua kan... so bila lihat di bandar the machine pun nda dapat digunakan... bejalan kaki tah kami ni ke coffeebean.

lama dah nda lepak dibandar... and the view is gorgeous, who says you need to go abroad to have piece of mind.. its only a drive away... our own neglected capital. The hub bub is always centered in Gadong and Kiulap, so why not venture to a place less crowded and more peaceful?... when I walked in the cafe all i see were foreigners... and I had quite an enjoyable time just chilling and having something to nibble..

thursday the family thought to visit a place where when I was growing up I use to frequent.. ages ago when I was about 3 til I was prolly about 7 or 8....

It has changed so much... It was no longer in its glorious form, the way it was back then... and its such a sad thing that.

a place that has the potential of being a hot spot for tourists and locals alike to have good simple food. The view is breath taking.... we were there late in the afternoon, spent a while just talking nonsense and having a whale of a time eating the much famed satay.

the view of the sun setting down was a sight... now this is life :)

Pesta makan seperti biasa... when there is a birthday we eat like there's no tomorrow. Cua tia liat.... macam makan 10 orang.. hahahahah yea its a typical brunei experience... we live to eat!

green curry... nyaman lagi masa the first time we ordered... betukar chef kali...

seafood tom yam... banyaknya sotong and udang... hmmmmm bolehlah... nyaman jua masih masa the very first time kami cuba.... yetah sayang ni nada consistency in the taste...

I've heard about it... but I've never experienced it for myself... Korean cuisine.

So when my sis suggested we have a go at it, I jumped at the chance hehe..

They have a variety and it all looked appetising... one of the brothers couldn't quite say he is as enthusiastic about it... I loved it on the other hand. But I don't know if that is how it is or maybe they over seasoned it cos most of it was a tad on the salty side..

the cutleries.. a delight, hahah having seen some korean movies make you go sakai over using them for yourself

My top fave, for the dishes we tried, is the open grill and having the hot tender meats wrapped in salad leaves... crunchy yet tender and simply put.... delightfully tasty.

they must've had it real new on the stocklist..... Ambuyat.. an acquired taste.. love or hate.. just like marmite. And it is understandable that good writers would know how to manouver his writing so that people would keep reading to the end. And in so much as I have the pure blood of a bruneian cheeewah.. hehe bangga kali ahh jadi anak jati brunei nyenta :) back to what I was saying... offended yes... but its all just another man's perspective and a good writer at that..

Can't force the guy to love the dish we grew up on.. as for his writing well I guess I probably would write something like that if I were to comment on a less than palatable foreign dish... like say... blood sausage... feasting on a concoction of blood and lard... ouuh tasty.... emmm no thank you.

or maybe... mustard... I use to hate the yellow goo, looks like it came from the rear end of a bird and smells of baby's puke.... but with time and with the help of Mc donald's burgers I learned to tolerate it... and eventually.... with the discovery of ceaser salad dressing recipi , I absolutely love it.

I decided to live healthier.. and hopefully fitter.. okey okey its more of me wanting to look a lil more decent hhahahaha a.k.a. lose weight! yeah yeah typical of a perempuan to want that. but with the help of my brothers who'r always there for me in whatever situation I land myself in.. love you boys so much! mwahs! hehe side stepped.. okey back to business.. these brothers of mine are fit~ FIT~ FIIIITTT~~ they ran non stop for what I could only immagine as a kazillion kilometers (cos it just seems never ending to me) my lungs were burning and my legs felt like they were gonna give way and break into shards... and when I looked up... they looked like they were just taking a stroll... mother of &*@$%$!! I need to do some catching up... and I am quite motivated to make a habbit of this.. and turn it to a daily routine..

I was on the brink of collapse and he macam nada usulnya after the run... An excellent motivator my brother..

this brother that helped push me to run that extra mile, he'd make a great trainer
well I didn't make 2 laps... I ran a little less than half the round and brisk walked the rest of the distance... these two went two laps.. entah bilakah ku kan tedaya membuat atu jua inshaAllah...
and.... malam tu hahaha cana tu ahh I rewarded myself with this~~ hahahaha

I haven't a clue why I was craving for it... but yesterday I even mustered up the energy to make the chocolate sauce.. tasted real nyce coated on marshmellows.

All we had in the fridge was vanilla ice cream... so make do lah with what I had... and because malas kan jalan.. tuang ice-cream pastu slice up bananas and drizzle the hot chocolate sauce on top.. boleh lah... licin jua haha

The trip up to temburong was a week ago... but I am aching still... and I managed to steal some photo's from friends.. I can never remember to bring with me the cam.. and the guys from OBBD seemed to have still remembered me.. hahah iski balik-balik naik raft... it's fun and I get to work up the muscles that have long been dormant hahaha

The temuai a.k.a. long boat trip we took to go upstream was a delight, I loved it... every moment... brings such peace of mind.

the second day of the trip we hiked up the steps and up on the canopy, it was well worth the cold sweats... the view up there is almost indescribable.. the silence was soothing and the bright sun rays help luminate the scenery into something spectacular.

Thumbs up and I can't wait to have a go at it again :)

It feels good to win... and win we did in the office badminton tournament in women's doubles category. the prize?... hmmm a tad dissapointing considering... you can spot it in the picture the brightest bag in yellow and orangey red. Though I must say, it was more the fun of it that i entered and having time to mix with the office mates.

my trip up to belalong was an experience... walaupun not the first time... every trip is unique and new things learned... exhausting... exhilerating jua, bitter..... yet sweet jua, creepy... tapi a sight to behold. Our accomodation was none too shabby, they have made such an improvement to the place and everything was breathtaking. I could immagine coming back for more of the experience.
sitting area at the reception was more than welcoming...

it wasn't all just work we had time to hike up to the canopy.. the trail that leads to it was a bit of a challange... ada jua masanya ku literally terlimpang kebelakang cos some part didnt have a proper pathway and it rained the night before, making everything muddy and slippery...

eh.. baru ku notice... kalau dua tiga kali pandang seram jua gambar ani... errrmmm...

once sampai ke atas sekali waahhhhh what a sight.... Allahuakhbar... Allah maha besar... pencipta segala yang indah... exitement mixed with fear... cold sweat.... apa inda takut kan heights but beranikan diri naik the canopy... jalan pun mesti grabbing hold on to the rails.. nda lapas-lapas.
biasalah kalau ke hutan ni ada saja lah cerita yang seramm.... ada terdengar suara mengilai... ada dengar bunyi ayam clucking... ada danger bunyi dengusan... ada lagi yang nampak begnya bergerak.. tapi syukur jua I didnt get to experience anything out of the ordinary...

it was a shocker for all man utd fans... dad was rubbing it in at breakfast lunch and at any chance he gets... during the game play he couldn't help but whip out his newly acquired square cushion.. there's a story there...

on friday the family had breakfast at the gadong properties food court. whilst disana my adik ternampak cushion man utd being displayed and so on impulse and a lil bit of urging on my side membalilah si adik. Not long after.... mami teliat bapa ketawa-ketawa arah cashier... Rupanya bapa bali cushion rival!!! Since kami kesana using my car.. I "threatened" to throw out the horrid looking thing hahahah... I even added (jokingly) "disgraced my car oleh bantal bapa ani eyh sepatutnya nda boleh masuk keta ani"

atu lama mencari yang sebenar-benar genuine recipi, i've tasted a few... lesser much unsavoury ones that pretend to be what its not.. ahahah Gosh me and food~ i love food~ food that taste awesome on my pallets~ however I must say that the caramelized sugar topping could be less thick cos its suppose to provide a very fine layer that you break in to with just a light tap and not have to shove hard on to get to the creamy geeewdness~

Confession... I've been so caught up with trying to acquire an immaculate second language that it had probably overtaken my first... leaving me clueless as to how I've managed to lose words of my mother-tongue that should've come second nature to me.. now its like rediscovering my own heritage... on that note.. read on and be a witness to my realisation of how astray I've gone in prioritising another mans language.. a "slap-in-the-face" tale that knocked back some sense in to me.

True story... suatu hari yang panas.. abis dah musim hujan.. I had just finished lunch and was paying my parking ticket at the airport... the booth rarely had both counter open but on this day lo and behold it was.. shocker.. for me atleast.. ahah ok ok back to my story.. at the time I was paying, a caucasian man was paying his and so happens we were handed our ticket concurrently and of course the automatic response would be to thank them for their service...

To have the full effect of what I had felt.. you have to immagine it as if you were experiencing it for yourself... the scenario.. both of us spoke at the same time:

Caucasian man : "Tarema kaseih" (in a very disticnt english accent)

Me : "Thank you" (in my usual immitation of an english accent)

Aside all that, life seemed more relaxed in kb than it is in bandar... and it almost seems that you are in a different time zone altogether.. Ceta ani datang diceritakan dari telinga ke telinga... dari mata ke hati.. apakan.. huhu
Masa jaman nini ku plang ni... banar kah inda tuhan saja yang tau. kana cetakan oleh nini kawan ku ke bapanya pastu ke kedia...

Yatah ceritanya...

Masa majlis nikah, imam kadi batanyakan pengantin laki.... sambil-sambil meredikan si pengantin laki kan di ijab kabulkan...

Ceritanya nini kawan ku ani si marke lah namanya, ramai pulang urang memeratikan, duduk besila mengelilingi imam kadi sama raja sahari. Pasal jarang meliat majlis majlis miani ani. si marke duduk bersila atu ingsut-ingsut mengampiri kan mendangar apa yang kadi tanyakan. Rupanya macam-macam jua ditanya imam kadi.

Imam kadi betanya pasal sehari brapa kali wajib sembahyang, laju lagi tu jawap si pengantin laki "lima tuan imam". Imam kadi betanya lagi, bagi contoh najis kecil, ia pun menjawap aying kamih baby. Imam kadi pun angguk-angguk, lurus tah pakah tu jawapannya.

Betanya lagi imam kadi ani, nya bagiku contoh najis basar. Bukan main labat paluh si pengantin laki..... tetulih kanan tetulih kekiri... si makre pun tegarak kan menulung mambagi jawapannya.. kan bisiknya takut jua ya kedangaran imam kadi... inda peadah-paedah ia yang karang kana nikahkan...

Munjung mulut si marke diam-diam menyabut " taei kuyuk tau babi", tapi inda jua paham si manis anie rasa jua kan menulung bisik si marke dalam hati.... di liatnya pengantin makin bepaluh-paluh menguliat macam giuk kana simbah.

Tapi inda lama lapas atu... macam semua urang arah majlis atu kana sampuk!.. banyak yang krem parut... semua yang lurus minum time atu menyimbur semula minuman abisdia memerancit... abis basah urang-urang yang inda bedusa.

Marke pun ia juanya, minuman yang baru ditaguknya abis memerancit ke muka imam kadi!
Apa inda... antadi bukan main sunyi semua urang kan mendangar jawapan pengantin masa kana tanya pasal najis basar.. jawap pengantin laki...
